Carters | Quality Matter | Our Quality Promise

Creating safe, high-quality clothing and accessories at a compelling value is our highest priority. For more than 150 years, we have been a trusted partner to generations of families. Our decisions as a business are guided by our values and our determination to exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering extraordinary service and quality products at affordable prices.

Our Commitment to Quality

We work closely with our vendors, suppliers, testing labs, and other third-parties to ensure our products meet our high standards of quality. Our product safety guidelines provide detailed direction to designers, product managers, and suppliers on how to ensure our products are safe for the children who wear and use them.

We require all production factories that we directly source from to complete annual product safety audits with periodic checks by Carter’s Quality Assurance and Product Integrity field teams. We also spend two to three months onboarding new factories so that they are thoroughly vetted and teams are appropriately trained in our proprietary quality guidelines.

Ensuring Customer Safety and Satisfaction

We continuously work to prevent quality issues and actively monitor customer feedback and respond promptly if concerns are raised. If a product recall is appropriate, we take prompt action in order to safeguard the children who wear and use our products.

Caring for Some Very Special Customers

Premature babies come into this world with a special set of circumstances and needs. With all the added challenges they and their parents face, finding clothes that fit shouldn’t be one of them. Unfortunately, most baby stores carry few or no preemie items. That’s why we offer a full preemie line of clothing, designed in special partnership with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses and specialists. Because they spend so much of their time caring for babies with special clothing needs, their input was invaluable in inspiring the preemie collection that we launched last year. We continue to engage with this group as we make changes and add special new features. For example, in the spring of 2018, we met with NICU nurses from both Northside Hospital and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as representatives from the March of Dimes and families to gain further insight in developing apparel for all children.
