Senior Product Designer – Hardgoods

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Our exceptional Product design team in the Flatiron district is looking for a Sr. Designer who can handle front-end ideation through sketching and CAD for consumer products. While CAD-with-headphones is a big part of the process, collaboration is king in our studio—great ideas can come from fellow designers, our development team, or our overseas office who helps get our ideas into production. There is no chance for boredom with our variety of home gear, feeding products, accessories, and toys.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Product and category research, which may include in-home visits, interviews, and focus groups to help uncover unmet needs.
  • Sketching and collaborating with the team to create solutions for a variety of simple to complex problems.
  • Reviewing design directions with management creating presentations for internal and sales presentations.
  • Designing new products and creating manufacture-ready 3D CAD files.
  • Managing the design of major projects, supervising junior designers and freelancers as needed.
  • Communicating with factories and/or model-makers to develop innovative products.
  • Working with overseas office and factories to optimize tooling and identify key cost savings.
  • Perform other projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • 4-year degree in industrial design required.
  • 5+ years design experience (toy and children’s product background preferred).
  • Experience designing for injection-molding and general DFM.
  • Experience working with overseas factories is preferred.
  • Advanced SolidWorks skills required (proficiency in Fusion 360 is plus).
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate ideas through sketching.
  • Clean, modern aesthetic, and a love of function.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be available for international travel 2-3 times per year.




IT Support Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Skip Hop is seeking an IT Support Analyst that will assist the Skip Hop Team in resolving any procedural or operating issues related to use of IT applications, products, or services. The IT Support Analyst will be responsible for differentiating when complex problems and priorities need to be elevated to specialized IT support for resolution. The IT Support Analyst will ensure that all problems are attended to in a timely manner and an effective solution is provided to the user. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, be able to react swiftly and intelligently to problems while handling multiple tasks, independently in a fast-paced environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain working knowledge of IT project initiatives to ensure IT Support Center readiness for supporting project rollout timelines.
  • Provide support for all IT products and services; including, but not limited to: answering questions, troubleshooting problems, teaching, or instructing co-workers regarding software or hardware, communication policy and troubleshooting printers or such other minor issues.
  • Create a positive customer support experience and build strong relationships through deep problem understanding, ensuring timely resolution or escalation, communicating promptly on progress and handling customers with professional attitude.
  • Work remotely with support teams in Atlanta and other offices for cross functional triage and resolution.
  • Provides excellent Customer Service by effectively communicating with user throughout resolution process; including verbal or email follow up to confirm that the issue was resolved.
  • Writes and updates training manuals and handouts for common requests and effective steps for resolution, educates co-workers on how to best use such resources, and maintain associated logs.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suit, Acrobat, MS Office, Financial Software, Cisco VPN, Cisco Jabber, Cisco Telephony, Air Watch, Crash plan, LANDesk.
  • Basic Network Technologies understanding – switches, TCP/IP, OSI, Routers, Circuits.
  • Understanding of a hybrid Windows 7/10 and Mac Enterprise environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to Java, Internet browsers, and Citrix to support web based Enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft server management tools including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File and Folder permissions management and others.
  • Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar and bespoke software applications.
  • Ability to communicate and function as a thought leader in the Technology Services team

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • 2+ years as a Support Analyst in a fast-paced office environment.

Skip Hop is seeking an experienced, high energy Marketing Writer who is extremely versed in different streams of writing – from naming, packaging to social/web content and press releases. This is the ultimate writing role – as it takes products from concepts into all consumer touchpoints in market while driving the overarching brand voice. We are looking for a fresh, creative thinker, who is both ambitious and adaptable. The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and can work both independently as well as collaboratively as part of a cross functional team.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conceptualize, craft and maintain a distinctive and consistent brand voice.
  • Write innovative and creative copy for marketing, branding materials, and packaging.
  • Work with marketing, creative and merchandising to Invent product names for new products.
  • Write engaging copy that informs the customer across trade and consumer channels: digital/social media, catalog/print and PR.
  • Work in partnership with Design and Merchandising departments to generate differentiated, fresh copy for collection statement and product based tools.
  • Create strategic marketing decks and product pitch decks to drive business.
  • Ensure accuracy of all copy execution (proof reading).

REQUIREMENTS:


  • BA in Communications, Journalism or English preferred.
  • 5 – 8 years copywriting experience working for a brand/retail, marketing or advertising department.
  • Agency experience a plus.
  • Candidate should possess supreme attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of how copy relates to art, design and graphics
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, while working independently and as part of a team.
