Skip Hop was founded in 2003 by Ellen and Michael Diamant. As new parents living in New York City, they were surprised by how few products resonated with the urban lifestyle they were used to. Ellen, an award-winning design executive from the fashion and publishing world, started applying her design skills to creating new products that would meet the needs of a new generation of parents. Michael, a veteran Internet entrepreneur, saw a wonderful opportunity to move into a new type of business, creating products and a brand that spoke to parents just like themselves. This is how Skip Hop was born. Ellen and Michael live in New York City with their six year old son.
